DESIGN OF EXPERIMENTS TRAINING
A course on the design and analysis of experiments has been developed by Nico Laubscher. It is presented online, using Microsoft Powerpoint files on Microsoft Teams platform. It was presented in the past (in person and online) to post-graduate students at various universities, inter alia University of Stellenbosch (Process Engineering), University of the Western Cape (Chemistry), North-West University (Chemical Recourse Beneficiation), Vaal University of Technology and Cape Peninsula University of Technology (Chemical Engineering) and most recently to Botswana Institute for Technology Research and Innovation (Gaborone, BW). The course is presented over five mornings of two sessions of 1½ hours each. The course is based on DX and/or SE360 software. A one-time 14-day trial of the software may be downloaded from statease.com. The training conveys the basic ideas and advantages of properly designed experiments and on completion attendees will have a full understanding of the application of the software. Numerous examples from engineering and science are used to facilitate this learning. Copies of the class notes (some 370 pages) are made available in PDF format to attendees for future reference. |
